While the Echo360 Mobile app now provides both video and presentation viewing capabilities, and allows students and instructors to interact with the in-class activity slides, there are still some limitations to using the application. The mobile apps are not designed to replace the full capabilities of Echo360 as provided through a browser (but we're getting closer!).
Currently, the Mobile Apps do not:
- Allow you to view Live-streamed classes. You must use a mobile or desktop browser to view live streams. You can view the completed video through the Mobile app once it is published.
- Provide access to content Groups.
- Provide viewing of public links to videos; those are viewed through the mobile browser, not through the Apps.
- Provide any administrator functionality; administrators, unless they are also instructors and/or students within a section, cannot log into and use the mobile apps.
- Allow you to switch roles (or institutions) once you are logged in. If you need to connect as a different role (student/instructor), log out and log back in.
- Allow Instructors to upload a video directly to a class; all video uploads are placed into your Echo360 Library.
- Allow instructors to view their Echo360 Library. Meaning you can upload via the app to your library, but you must use a browser to publish the video to a class.
- Provide student view counts or percentages for Offline Mode viewing of class videos (this is the same as it is for browser-based interaction; we cannot track views of downloaded videos).
- Allow LMS users to log in until they establish a direct Echo360 password.
- Provide LMS Gradebook "presence" for students who view classes solely through the App.

If you are an LMS user (your institution accesses Echo360 through a learning management system such as Blackboard, Canvas, Desire2Learn, Moodle, or Sakai), you are strongly encouraged to review the information in that article.
